Announcing the Inaugural Gingerbread House Bake-Off Competition event. Please join us November 14, 2020 at the Weatherwax Hall in Jackson, Michigan for a festive evening including celebrity judging, cookie decorating activity, awards dinner and more.
100% of this year’s auction proceeds will benefit DeLand Pointe, A Habitat Neighborhood. DeLand Pointe is a 14-home development planned as a neighborhood near downtown that will provide stability and self-reliance through home ownership for low-income families in Jackson.

Registration Deadline
November 8, 2020 by 5 pm
A complete and signed copy of the competitor entry form must be received by Greater Jackson Habitat for Humanity no later than 5 pm on Nov. 15. Entry forms may be mailed or dropped off, 251 W. Prospect, Jackson, MI 49203, or emailed to Jamie Potts: jpotts@jacksonhabitat.org.
Gingerbread House Submission
November 14, 2020, 2-5 pm
Entries should be unloaded at the front of Weatherwax Hall and placed in judging area from 2-5 pm on Nov. 21. Event staff will not be allowed to assist in moving the entry.
Celebrity Judging
November 14, 2020, 5-5:30 pm
Entries will be judged on 1) Overall Appearance, 2) Originality & Creativity, 3) Difficulty, 4) Precision and 5) Consistency of Theme. Theme should be competitor team’s own and consistent throughout the entry. There is no overall theme for the competition.
Dinner & Awards
November 14, 2020 5:30-7 pm
After judging is complete, enjoy dinner, awards, cookie decorating activities and entertainment.

The competition is segmented into two divisions: Corp/Organization (Adult) and Youth. Judging for each division will be based on 1) overall appearance; 2) originality and creativity; 3) difficult; 4) precision; and 5) consistency of theme. The theme is chosen by the team. There is no overall theme for the competition.
Although the competition is titled “Greater Jackson Habitat for Humanity Raise the Roof Gingerbread House Bake-Off”; entries are not limited to the structure of a house. Competitors are welcome and encouraged to uniquely design their entry for the 2019 competition, as long as the entry is in keeping with the competition rules and procedures and the five judging criteria.
